Nursing Home Abuse

My husband died because of lack of medical care while he was in a Rehab. After reading all the fine print on the orientation booklet, I found that Rehabs are not reponsible for the wellfare of our loved ones. "They are required by law to exercise reasonable care toward the Resident but are not an insurer of the health, safety and welfare of the Resident and assumes no liability of such".
I feel my Husband did not receive reasonable care, since they let him lie in his bed, unattended, and he vomited, the bile was aspirated into his lungs and he died. There were other things that happened to lead up to this tragedy but I won't go into that now. The point is, these people are not liable or responsible for our loved ones and I should have brought him home so I could have taken care of him.
Also, when I asked for a copy of his medical records, they said it would be $25 a page up to 25 pages and 25 cents a page after that. They are so protected, we can't even find out what really happened that night.
I have contacted several attorneys and they will not take the case because, Rehabs have liability policies of one million dollars with $9,999,999. deductable and we would not beable to recoup any damages. Morgan and Morgan even said that until they change the laws in FL. our loved ones will never be protected. Can we do this?
Remember if you are put in a Nursing Home, have a patient advocate to watch out for your welfare.
Has anyone had this experience and what did you do about it?
